Job Description

The First line Risk and Controls Analyst plays a key role in supporting risk and compliance activities across Operations. While direct experience in risk and compliance is not essential, this role is well-suited to someone with strong operational knowledge, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to learn. Under the guidance and mentorship of the Frontline Risk and Controls Manager, the successful candidate will assist in identifying and assessing risk, designing and testing controls, and supporting a proactive risk culture. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing operations team member to step into a specialist role and grow their career in risk and compliance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, documentation, and implementation of effective controls across
  • operational processes.
  • Assist with maintaining the Operational Risk and Controls Register, including recording new.
  • risks, control activities, and updates to existing entries.
  • Perform regular control self-assessments and control effectiveness testing, escalating
  • findings as appropriate.
  • Assist with operational incident and issue management, including root cause analysis and
  • action tracking.
  • Collaborate with frontline teams to review and assess new or changing processes and
  • identify potential risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support preparation of risk and compliance reports, dashboards, and metrics for internal
  • stakeholders.
  • Contribute to change initiatives and projects by assisting with risk assessments and control
  • impact analysis.
  • Promote awareness of risk and compliance across operations by supporting risk training
  • and coaching frontline team members.
  • Liaise with the Service Optimisation, Service Improvement, and Workforce Management
  • teams to ensure operational practices are risk-aligned and future-fit.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity within risk management
  • systems and registers.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.


Experience

 

  • 2–4 years’ operational experience preferably within financial services, lending, or mortgage
  • operations.
  • Exposure to operational process mapping, risk identification, and control design.
  • Experience working in or with frontline customer service teams.
