About the role
We’re looking for a forward thinking, commercially savvy Compliance Manager to join Resimac’s Legal & Compliance team during an exciting period of transformation. With a refreshed CEO, new executive leadership, and a strategy focused on strengthening governance and elevating risk maturity across the organisation, this is a genuinely impactful role where you’ll help build the foundations that shape Resimac’s next era of growth. As a compliance specialist, you’ll work across the business as a trusted partner—supporting lending, servicing and corporate teams with practical advice, hands on guidance, and a proactive approach to solving business challenges. You’ll lead key strategic compliance uplift projects, including a full refresh of Resimac’s Compliance Monitoring Framework and the rollout of a new GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) system that will transform how compliance is embedded across the organisation.
You’ll also play a central role in uplifting compliance culture refreshing policies, simplifying processes, building awareness, and helping shape strong risk governance foundations as the business continues to grow. With access to all business functions, including senior leadership and the CEO, this role is both influential and highly visible.
What you’ll lead
- Uplifting and embedding the Compliance Monitoring Framework across the business.
- Implementation and organisation wide adoption of a new GRC system, ensuring it’s used to its full potential.
- Refreshing, simplifying and modernising policies and processes.
- Enhancing compliance frameworks and supporting strong risk governance.
- Strengthening compliance culture through training, awareness and guidance.
- Providing practical, risk based advice across product, marketing, sales, distribution and operations.
- Managing regulatory licences and key regulatory relationships (ASIC, OAIC, NZ Commerce Commission).
- Acting as AML/CTF Officer (AU), AML/CFT Officer (NZ), and Privacy Officer.
You’ll be based in our Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to work 4 days in the office and 1 day from home, alongside a collaborative and supportive culture.
About you
- 5+ years’ experience in compliance within financial services (bank or non bank lending experience welcome).
- Strong Line 2 experience, with a business partnering mindset.
- Deep understanding of consumer credit law, ACL/AFSL obligations, privacy legislation, AML/CTF frameworks and AFCA processes.
- Experienced across residential mortgages and/or consumer asset finance.
- A proactive problem solver who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders.
- Confident providing advisory support to Sales, Marketing, Recoveries, Hardship, Operations and Executive Leadership.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide stakeholders toward practical, risk aligned solutions.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build frameworks, uplift systems and refine processes.
- Highly organised, detail oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Degree or graduate diploma in a relevant discipline, and committed to ongoing professional development.
