About the Role
This is a hands-on and commercially focused Product Manager role responsible for the full lifecycle management of mortgage products within a dynamic non-bank lending environment. Working closely with Distribution, Operations, Marketing, Technology and external partners, the role ensures products remain competitive, compliant, accurately represented across all platforms, and aligned to customer and broker needs.
The Product Manager – Mortgages will balance strategic product thinking with execution, owning pricing changes, competitor analysis, system configuration, data quality and continuous improvement across digital submission and origination platforms. While mortgages are the core focus, the role may also support adjacent lending products such as asset finance.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of mortgage products, including design, pricing, features, fees and performance across broker and direct channels.
• Monitor market and competitor activity to maintain competitive product positioning.
• Manage interest rate and pricing changes for new business and back book in line with ALCO approvals.
• Analyse fees and charges and recommend changes where appropriate.
• Ensure accurate and compliant product setup and maintenance across internal systems, aggregators and partner platforms.
• Own product data quality within electronic lodgement platforms, including NextGen ApplyOnline and Loanworks.
• Lead engagement with NextGen to test, implement and communicate system and submission improvements.
• Maintain TMDs and ensure ongoing compliance with DDO, NCCP, AML/CTF and Privacy requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for product-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Distribution and Marketing to deliver product training, tools and broker education.
• Maintain relationships with wholesale funding partners to support existing loan portfolios.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance broker and customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Support the General Manager, Product & Customer Experience with product launches and strategic initiatives.
About You
• Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong focus on data accuracy, quality and disciplined execution.
• Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability, underpinned by integrity and professionalism.
• Solid understanding of residential mortgage products within a non-bank or specialist lending environment.
• Hands-on experience with mortgage origination systems and aggregator platforms, including NextGen ApplyOnline.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end mortgage processing and the downstream impact of product, pricing and system changes.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks including NCCP, AML/CTF, Privacy and DDO.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong capability in data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in mortgage product management or a closely related role within financial services.
• Experience supporting broker and/or direct-to-consumer distribution models.
• Proven ability to manage pricing, product data, systems and multiple stakeholder relationships concurrently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related discipline (preferred), or equivalent practical experience.
