Job Description

About the role 

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our Decision Support & Data Analytics team in Sydney. Reporting to the Group Head of FP&A & Data Analytics, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring data sits at the heart of Resimac’s decision making. 

You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering scalable Power BI solutions, maintaining and extending enterprise content in Resimac’s data warehouse (RDH), and building automated reporting systems that provide actionable insights to the business. 

This is a high-impact role, working closely with IT and wider business units across the organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to shape BI reporting standards, strengthen governance and data security frameworks, and drive adoption of emerging technologies such as AI and Copilot. 

  

What you’ll be doing 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using advanced DAX.  
  • Extend and maintain Resimac’s UX / style guide. 
  • Develop and manage source control for all Power BI reports, ensuring robust versioning, workspace security, and best practices. 
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to provide actionable Enterprise-wide business insights. Working with the data team, ensure business rules are used/maintained as part of the Power BI report development process. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and drive BI tool adoption. 
  • Maintain and enhance existing reports to meet evolving business needs. 
  • Research emerging BI/AI technologies and recommend system improvements. 
  • Facilitate workshops, train users, and support BI adoption across the business. 
  • Project and Task Management - Working efficiently with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate into key objectives. 
  • Maintaining well organised documentation of developed solutions. 

  

About you 

We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical skills with strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement.  

  •  Must have previous experience working in financial services. 
  • Extensive experience with Power BI including building and optimising complex reports and dashboards. 
  • Advanced DAX and SQL skills, with the ability to model complex business logic. 
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, ideally including system migrations will be highly regarded. 
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, data governance, and security frameworks. 
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g. GitHub, Azure DevOps) and managing workspace security (MS Entra ID). 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. 
  • A passion for emerging technologies and experience or strong interest in AI/automation. 
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. 
  • Confident in presenting insights and influencing decision-making. 
  • Motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership. 
  • Passion for improving controls and processes.
