Job Description

Reporting to: Head of Commercial and Secured Business Loans

 

What You'll Be Doing

You will oversee these primary areas: expanding and managing the wholesale partners in the private credit sector, managing the successful volume growth of the Secured Business Loan portfolio, and inputting into the development of the wholesale product offering.

  • Facilitate the exceptions process for RAF wholesale partners, including workshopping scenarios, escalating and managing approvals from product, credit and treasury teams, issuing term sheets, coordinating with product, credit, legal, treasury, operations and compliance as necessary, and reviewing and approving loan documents for loan facilities.
  • Assist in tasks such as extensions, redraws, arrears management, variations, rate increases, annual reviews, and general loan administration where required.
  • Manage relationships with RAF wholesale partners and provide ongoing training on products and processes.
  • Achieve agreed volume, net interest margin (NIM), and volume per Wholesale Partner targets.
  • Stay informed about competitors' activities and make recommendations to enhance competitiveness.
  • Develop operational procedures to enhance scalability and efficiency within the RAF wholesale division where required.
  • Stay current with all credit policies and procedures.
  • Develop, monitor, and provide insights on pricing and products for the Wholesale Asset Finance business.
  • Contribute to the formulation and successful integration of RAF business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, digitisation, and process improvements within the RAF wholesale team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures within the RAF wholesale team.
  • Uphold adherence to the risk framework at all times.
  • Provide support, leadership, coaching, training, and development for staff members if required.

What we're looking for

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations, including but not limited to the National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) Act, Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR), Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regulations, and Privacy Act legislation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport while fostering productive relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thorough comprehension of credit risk as it pertains to both small business and consumer finance products.
  • Proficiency in a range of software applications, notably the Microsoft Product Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of stakeholder management and structured finance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit risk in the context of both business and consumer finance products.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills, evidenced by the ability to cultivate and sustain strong relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications/Experience

  • A degree in Business, Accounting or other relevant qualification, or equivalent work experience (minimum of 5 years' experience in the finance industry).
